A quick and delicious Chicken Parmesan recipe that is crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound them to about ½ inch thick for even cooking.
  3. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and a dash of garlic powder for added flavor.
  4. Prepare your breading station with three shallow dishes: flour, beaten eggs, and a mix of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Coat each chicken breast in the flour, dip it in the eggs, then press it into the breadcrumb mixture until thoroughly coated.
  6. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  7. Pour marinara sauce over each piece of chicken, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Transfer the skillet to your preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil if you like!
