A hearty breakfast casserole combining breakfast sausage, cheese, and tater tots for a comforting family meal.

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the breakfast sausage until it’s fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  4. Spread the cooked sausage evenly in your greased baking dish. Top with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Arrange the frozen tater tots in an even layer over the cheese.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and tater tots.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the tater tots are golden brown.
  9. Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added flavor, try using flavored breakfast sausage and let the casserole rest after baking for cleaner slices.
