Quick and nutritious bagels made in the air fryer, perfect for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4%)
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • Toppings: everything seasoning, poppy seeds, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour and baking powder in a medium bowl. Optionally, add a pinch of salt.
  2. Create a well in the center and pour in the cottage cheese. Mix until a chunky dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead it by hand for 1-2 minutes until it forms a semi-smooth ball.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and roll each into a log, about 6-7 inches long and 3/4 inch thick, connecting the ends to shape bagels.
  5. Whisk the egg and brush it on each bagel, then sprinkle with toppings.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 300°F and place the bagels in the basket in a single layer.
  7. Cook for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown, checking after 10 minutes.
  8. Cool the bagels for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in air fryer or toaster.
