Apple Fritter Bites are bite-sized treats filled with warm apples and a crispy exterior, perfect for sharing any time of the year.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl to form your dry mixture.
  2. Beat the eggs in another bowl, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the wet and dry mixtures together, stirring gently until just mixed and avoid overmixing.
  4. Fold in the diced apples until they’re evenly distributed in the batter.
  5. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Test the oil temperature by dropping a small amount of batter in; it should sizzle immediately.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove the fritters and let them drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar on top.

Notes

Make sure your oil is hot enough before frying to avoid greasy fritters. Fry in small batches for even cooking.
