A delightful combination of savory and sweet, these Apple Pork Chops are perfect for any occasion. Juicy pork chops are paired with tender apples and warm spices for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry and season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  3. Carefully add the pork chops to the hot skillet and sear for about 4–5 minutes per side, until they are nicely browned.
  4. Once browned, transfer the chops to a plate and tent with foil to keep warm.
  5. In the same skillet, add in the sliced onion and apples. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 4–6 minutes, allowing them to soften and absorb the flavors.
  6. Pour in 1 cup of apple juice and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  7. Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them in among the apples and onions. Cover the skillet and cook for another 10–15 minutes, until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and is thoroughly cooked.
  8. Serve the chops warm, spooning the apple-onion pan sauce generously over each piece.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of pork chops. If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer longer until it reduces to your desired consistency.
