A classic Italian-American dish featuring breaded chicken coated with marinara and melted mozzarella cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Blend the grated Parmesan, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over each chicken breast, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. Dredge the oiled chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to make sure it sticks.
  5. Place the coated chicken in a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
  7. Pour marinara sauce generously over each piece of chicken.
  8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly on top.
  9. Return to the oven; bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian alternative, substitute chicken with eggplant slices or portobello mushrooms. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
