A delightful twist on a classic sandwich, perfect for brunches, quick dinners, or snack time. Flaky croissants filled with savory ham and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese, halved
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white
  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice each mini croissant in half horizontally.
  3. On the bottom half of each croissant, layer half a slice of cheddar cheese.
  4. Add a slice of ham followed by another half slice of cheese.
  5. Close the sandwiches by placing the top half of the croissant over the fillings.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until smooth.
  7. Spread the butter mixture evenly on the inside of each croissant sandwich.
  8. Arrange the assembled sandwiches in the prepared baking dish.
  9. In another small bowl, whisk together the egg white with a splash of water. Brush this egg wash on the tops of the croissants and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality ham and experiment with different types of mustard for added flavor.
