A quick and easy baked taco recipe that combines traditional taco flavors with a hassle-free preparation method for a crunchy, cheesy meal.

Ingredients

  • Taco shells
  • Ground beef
  • Cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • Taco seasoning
  • Onion (optional)
  • Bell pepper (optional)
  • Olive oil
  • Sour cream (for serving)
  • Lettuce (for serving)
  • Tomatoes (for serving)
  • Salsa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and bell pepper; sauté until softened (about 4–5 minutes).
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water; simmer until evenly mixed and slightly saucy.
  5. Fill each taco shell with the seasoned beef (about three-quarters full).
  6. Top with shredded cheese.
  7. Arrange tacos on a baking sheet and bake for 10–15 minutes, until shells are crispy and cheese is melted.
  8. Serve hot with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa.

Notes

Store leftover filling in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days. Reheat assembled tacos in a 350°F oven for crispness.
