A delightful dish that elevates chicken into a succulent and flavorful feast with a rich tangy marinade of balsamic vinegar, honey, and garlic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, oregano, and thyme in a medium bowl until the honey dissolves.
  2. Season the marinade with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place the chicken in a large resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  4. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, ideally between 2 to 4 hours.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Line a baking dish with aluminum foil or parchment paper and grease it lightly with olive oil.
  8. Place the marinated chicken in the prepared dish and pour any remaining marinade over the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), basting halfway through if desired.
  10. Let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  11. Arrange on a serving platter, drizzle with pan juices, garnish with fresh basil, and serve alongside roasted vegetables or quinoa.

Notes

Marinating longer enhances flavor. For variations, consider adding soy sauce or Dijon mustard.
