A hearty and comforting casserole combining flaky biscuits, rich sausage gravy, fluffy eggs, and melted cheese. Perfect for brunch or busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can Refrigerated Buttermilk Biscuits
  • 1 lb Ground Breakfast Sausage
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • to taste Seasonings

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle in the flour, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until the gravy thickens, around 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. While the gravy cooks, cut the refrigerated biscuits into quarters.
  6. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the biscuit pieces evenly across the bottom.
  7. Pour the sausage gravy mixture over the biscuits.
  8. Whisk the eggs in a bowl and pour them over the casserole, ensuring even distribution.
  9. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese turns golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
