A delightful Chicken Parmesan that’s crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a comforting family meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups pomodoro sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Place the chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Add flour to another shallow dish. In a third dish, whisk the eggs until smooth.
  5. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it into the egg mixture, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Spoon the pomodoro sauce over each piece, and top generously with shredded mozzarella.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve hot, paired with spaghetti or crusty bread for a complete meal.

Notes

For a lighter option, bake the chicken without frying first, but adjust cooking time accordingly. Pair with a salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
