A comforting classic that combines crispy breaded chicken breasts, zesty marinara sauce, and gooey melted mozzarella.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it into the eggs, and then coat it thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry each chicken breast for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they’re golden brown.
  5. Place your fried chicken in a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over each piece generously.
  6. Top them off with slices of fresh mozzarella and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving for an inviting touch!

Notes

For extra crunch, mix some grated Parmesan into your breadcrumb mixture before coating the chicken.
