A comforting classic that combines crispy chicken and rich marinara in a deliciously cheesy bake.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Cooked pasta for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning together in a bowl.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then fry the chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  6. Spread a layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish, then place the fried chicken on top, covering with remaining sauce.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over the chicken.
  8. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Serve hot over cooked pasta.

Notes

For extra crunch, try panko breadcrumbs. Fresh basil can add a hint of freshness.
