  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix together breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until fully covered.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, and fry the chicken breasts until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot, paired with pasta or a fresh salad.

Notes

For a healthier twist, you can substitute breadcrumbs with almond meal or whole wheat crumbs and add fresh herbs for extra flavor.
