A comforting classic, Chicken Parmesan features tender chicken breasts coated in a crispy breadcrumb and parmesan crust, topped with marinara and gooey mozzarella.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a bowl, beat the eggs until well blended. In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese together.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg wash, ensuring it’s fully coated, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture for an even coating.
  5. Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
  6. Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over each piece and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
  8. Garnish with freshly chopped basil before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, swap breadcrumbs for panko or use low-fat cheese for a lighter version.
