A classic Chicken Parmesan recipe featuring crispy chicken fillets layered with marinara sauce and bubbling cheese.

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Cut each chicken breast in half lengthwise to create 4 thinner pieces.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, flour, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish.
  4. Combine breadcrumbs, parmesan, and Italian seasoning in another dish.
  5. Dredge each piece of chicken in the egg wash, shaking off excess.
  6. Coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture thoroughly.
  7. Heat a large pan over medium heat and add olive oil.
  8. Cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Spread half of the marinara sauce in a 9×13 baking dish, layering the chicken on top.
  10. Spoon the remaining marinara over the chicken and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  11. Bake uncovered for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melty and sauce is bubbling. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra crispy coating, consider double-dipping the chicken in the breadcrumbs.
