A comforting and soul-satisfying Chicken Parmesan Bake that perfectly blends crispy chicken cutlets, marinara sauce, and bubbling cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Slice the chicken breasts into cutlets to ensure even cooking.
  3. Prepare two bowls: one with beaten eggs and the other with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each chicken cutlet into the egg, letting any excess drip off.
  5. Coat the chicken thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Place the coated chicken cutlets in the greased baking dish and drizzle them with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the chicken is golden and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven, generously top each piece with marinara sauce and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
  9. Return to the oven for an additional 10–12 minutes, until the cheese melts and bubbles beautifully.
  10. To achieve a crispy finish, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes if desired.
  11. Garnish your masterpiece with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.

Notes

Substitute chicken breasts with thighs for a juicier option; for a gluten-free version, swap panko for almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs.
