A delightful twist on the classic Italian Chicken Parmesan, this casserole features tender shredded chicken, rich marinara sauce, and gooey cheese layered with pasta for a comforting meal.

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup cooked pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, marinara sauce, and cooked pasta. Add in the dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together until well mixed.
  3. In a greased baking dish, evenly spread half of the chicken mixture across the bottom.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese and half of the grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken mixture.
  5. Layer the remaining chicken mixture on top, followed by the rest of the cheeses.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. If desired, garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, use a quality marinara sauce and consider using rotisserie chicken for convenience. You can customize the recipe with vegetables or different cheeses to suit your taste.
