A comforting dish of breaded chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked pasta for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Beat the egg in a shallow bowl.
  3. Mix the breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper in another bowl.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg, letting any excess egg drip off.
  5. Coat the chicken thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the coated chicken breasts and cook them until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over the top and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  9. Serve with your favorite cooked pasta and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra crispy coating, try using panko breadcrumbs instead of regular ones. Don’t overcrowd the skillet when searing the chicken for even cooking.
