A classic dish featuring crispy chicken coated in marinara and melted cheese, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Generously season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In one bowl, beat the eggs until smooth. In another bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and grated parmesan, mixing well.
  4. <strong dip each chicken breast in the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated, then transfer it to the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the breaded chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer the cooked chicken to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over each piece, and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving hot.

Notes

Feel free to use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch or switch the marinara for a homemade tomato sauce.
