A delicious breakfast twist that combines cinnamon rolls and French toast, perfect for family brunches or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slices white bread (soft sandwich bread, brioche, or challah)
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened (plus more for cooking)
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Start by flattening each slice of bread with a rolling pin or by pressing them with your hands until they are nicely flat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Spread a thin layer of this mixture onto each slice of bread.
  4. Tightly roll each slice into a log and set aside.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk to make the French toast batter.
  6. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter to coat the bottom.
  7. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated but not soggy.
  8. Place the coated roll-ups in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  9. While still warm, roll the cooked roll-ups in a mix of granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  10. Serve immediately, dusted with powdered sugar, drizzled with maple syrup, or dipped in a cream cheese glaze.

Notes
