Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together the melted butter, egg, milk, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix until combined; a few lumps are fine.
  5. Transfer the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Combine 1/4 cup of granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon in a shallow dish while the bread bakes.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while it’s still warm.
  9. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
