A timeless dish featuring crispy chicken topped with marinara and gooey mozzarella, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Whisk the eggs in a shallow dish until well beaten.
  4. Combine breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese in another dish.
  5. Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
  6. Transfer them to the breadcrumb mixture and coat well, pressing lightly to adhere.
  7. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the breaded chicken breasts.
  8. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
  9. Place the chicken in a baking dish and spoon marinara sauce over each piece.
  10. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  12. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Serve with spaghetti, garlic bread, or a green salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
