A delicious comfort food combining crispy chicken, hearty pasta, and rich marinara sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 ounces pasta (spaghetti or penne)
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. Combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the beaten egg, ensuring it’s fully coated, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until well covered.
  5. Cook the chicken in a skillet over medium heat with a bit of oil until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Layer the cooked pasta in a baking dish, followed by the marinara sauce and the fried chicken. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning or crushed red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mixture. You can also use baking instead of frying for a healthier option.
