Delightful cottage cheese flagels that are easy to make and customizable with various toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the cottage cheese, egg, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the flour, stirring until everything is combined. The dough will be somewhat sticky—that’s perfectly fine!
  4. Lightly flour your hands and divide the dough into approximately six equal pieces.
  5. Roll each piece into a ball, then shape it into a ring, making sure to seal the ends together.
  6. Place the formed flagels onto the prepared baking sheet. If you’re using toppings, brush the tops with a bit of water and sprinkle on your choice.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let them cool slightly before serving, then enjoy!

Notes
