A delicious and easy recipe for tender chicken topped with crispy bacon, melted cheddar cheese, and tangy barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. Once cooled, crumble the bacon and set aside.
  4. Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  5. In an oven-safe skillet, cook the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Pour barbecue sauce over the chicken, add shredded cheddar cheese, and top with crumbled bacon.
  7. Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and cheese is melted.
  8. Sprinkle chopped green onions on top and add red pepper flakes if desired.
  9. Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a zestier kick, try adding sliced jalapeños. Using pre-cooked bacon can save time.
