Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken

A comforting dish featuring succulent chicken enveloped in a velvety garlic and parmesan sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or impressive dinners.

  • 2 chicken breasts (cut in half lengthwise)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by seasoning the halves with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for about 5–6 minutes on each side until fully cooked and golden. Transfer to a plate and cover with foil.
  3. In the same skillet, add flour and minced garlic, cooking for about one minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth or wine, whisking continuously until the flour is dissolved. Allow it to reduce by half.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and simmer until the sauce slightly thickens. Gradually mix in parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap chicken broth for vegetable broth. For a vegan twist, use nutritional yeast instead of parmesan.
