A comforting dish featuring juicy chicken breasts baked in a dreamy basil sauce and topped with creamy mozzarella.

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream and chopped basil until well combined. Pour this mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
  6. Top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce is bubbling.
  8. Serve hot over pasta or rice.

Notes

For a creamy twist, consider using Parmesan cheese alongside mozzarella. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
