A quick and delicious Pasta Puttanesca with shrimp, featuring fragrant garlic, zesty tomatoes, olives, and capers.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, sliced olives, capers, and red pepper flakes. Let the mixture simmer for roughly 5 minutes.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink, approximately 3-4 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Toss in the cooked pasta, making sure everything is evenly coated with the sauce.
  7. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
