A comforting and satisfying dish featuring chicken with a golden, cheese-covered crust, perfect for any occasion.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and a dash of garlic powder. Arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Mix the marinara sauce with the Italian seasoning in a separate bowl. Spread half of this mixture over the chicken.
  4. Layer the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses generously on top of the chicken.
  5. Sprinkle panko breadcrumbs evenly over the cheeses and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, consider searing the chicken before baking. Fresh herbs can elevate the dish even further.
