A comforting Italian classic featuring tender chicken, rich tomato sauce, and gooey melted cheese.

  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Paste
  • 1 tbsp Italian Herbs Paste
  • 1 cup Tomato Purée
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 8 oz Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Flatten the chicken breasts so they cook evenly.
  3. Dip each chicken piece in flour, followed by beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly with seasoned bread crumbs.
  4. Sauté the chopped onions, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper in olive oil until softened.
  5. Stir in the garlic paste along with Italian herbs paste, mixing until well combined.
  6. Pour in the tomato purée and season with Italian seasoning; let it simmer for a few minutes.
  7. Arrange the breaded chicken in a baking dish, covering them with the fragrant tomato sauce mixture, and sprinkle cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is melted and golden.
  9. Serve hot with a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for an extra kick.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until heated through.
