A crispy, savory Chicken Parmesan with marinara and mozzarella that’s quick and budget-friendly.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Generously season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Whisk the egg until well blended in a shallow bowl. Mix together the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese in another bowl.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture until evenly covered.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add the chicken, frying for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and top each breast with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with basil before serving hot.
