A quick and delightful recipe for classic French toast that brings comfort and warmth to your breakfast table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 slices bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Syrup

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk them together until well blended.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly and ensuring they hold their shape.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt and coat the bottom of the pan.
  4. Place the soaked bread slices into the skillet in batches, avoiding overcrowding. Cook each slice until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until it matches.
  5. Once cooked, stack the French toast on a plate, drizzle generously with syrup, and add extra butter if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use slightly stale bread. Feel free to get creative with toppings such as fresh fruit or whipped cream.
