A hearty English breakfast platter featuring fried eggs, savory sausages, crispy bacon, and a variety of complementary sides.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 sausages
  • 2 slices of toast
  • 1/2 cup baked beans
  • 1 tomato, halved
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 slices of bacon (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the sausages. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  2. If adding bacon, fry it in a separate pan until crispy, then set aside.
  3. Remove sausages and bacon from the pan, then fry the eggs to your liking in the same skillet.
  4. Sauté the sliced mushrooms in a separate pan until golden.
  5. Grill the halved tomatoes, cut-side down, on medium heat until softened, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Toast the slices of bread until golden brown and crispy.
  7. On a large plate, arrange the eggs, sausages, toast, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, and bacon.
  8. Season everything with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, swap sausages for plant-based alternatives and omit the bacon.
