A fun twist on a classic breakfast favorite, these French Toast Sticks are crispy and perfect for dipping in maple syrup.

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing your bread into 1-inch wide strips.
  2. In a blender or a bowl, combine the milk, flour, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Blend or whisk until smooth.
  3. Preheat your skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the butter, allowing it to melt completely and coat the surface.
  4. Dip each strip of bread into the egg mixture, making sure each side is well-coated.
  5. Place the coated strips on the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until they transform into a beautiful golden brown.

Notes

For those without brioche, feel free to use challah or whole wheat bread. Ensure your skillet is adequately heated before adding the butter for a perfect crust.
