Deliciously flaky pockets filled with melted cheese and savory ham, perfect for snacks or appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 100g diced ham
  • 100g shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Lightly flour a work surface and roll out the puff pastry.
  3. Cut the pastry into evenly sized squares (about 8–12).
  4. In the center of each square, add a small amount of diced ham and a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Fold each square to form a triangle or smaller square, sealing the edges with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops of the sealed pastries with beaten egg.
  7. Bake on a parchment-lined tray for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly on a rack before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh cheese and avoid overfilling the pastries.
