A deliciously comforting banana bread made with simple ingredients, perfect for breakfast or a quick snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the mashed bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  4. Mix in the sugar, followed by the beaten egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the all-purpose flour, stirring gently until just incorporated. If you’re adding nuts, fold them in now.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a nuttier flavor, substitute all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour. Store in plastic wrap for 2-3 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
