Scale
  • 1 cup small pasta shapes (like spaghetti or ditalini)
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey (for meatballs)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth or water
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground meat with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs.
  3. In a large pot, brown the meatballs over medium heat until golden.
  4. Remove the meatballs and set them aside.
  5. In the same pot, add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Add the pasta and cook until tender, about 7-10 minutes.
  7. Stir in the meatballs and heat through.
  8. Serve warm, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if you like.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the ground meat with plant-based options. Ensure meatballs are small and uniform for even cooking.
