A quick and delightful dish of tender chicken coated in a sweet honey and garlic glaze, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (optional)
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium chicken stock
  • 12 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional, Sriracha recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the chicken breast cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken cubes in a single layer. Cook them for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden and cooked through.
  4. Once the chicken is properly cooked, reduce the heat and add the minced garlic. Stir it for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the honey, chicken stock, lemon juice, and hot sauce, if desired. Stir well to coat the chicken.
  6. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings beautifully to the chicken.
  7. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley and chili flakes, and serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Marinating the chicken in honey and lemon juice for 30 minutes can enhance flavor. Keep an eye on the garlic to avoid burning.
