A delicious and satisfying meal of marinated chicken in a sweet and savory garlic glaze, perfect for busy weeknights and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken breast or thighs, diced
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes for added heat (optional)
  • Broccoli florets for extra veggies (optional)
  • Brown sugar for a richer sauce (optional)
  • Bell peppers for a pop of color (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, mix the diced chicken with soy sauce and minced garlic. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: While the chicken marinates, combine honey, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a bowl, mixing until you achieve a smooth glaze.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated chicken. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Make the Garlic Sauce: Pour the honey mixture into the skillet with the chicken. Bring to a simmer, allowing it to thicken while stirring frequently.
  5. Serve Up: Plate the honey garlic chicken over steamed rice. Finish off with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds if desired.
