Ingredients
Scale
1 pound chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
2 cups Brussels sprouts (halved)
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce (use low sodium if preferred)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
Salt and pepper (to taste)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Chopped green onions (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Prep your ingredients: Start by washing and halving the Brussels sprouts. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and mince the garlic and ginger.
Make the honey-garlic sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger. Set it aside for later.
Sauté the Brussels sprouts: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the halved Brussels sprouts, seasoning with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the edges are golden and crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the chicken: In the same skillet, add your chicken pieces. Cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring frequently until cooked through. Add additional salt and pepper to taste.
Combine and simmer: Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the chicken, then return the Brussels sprouts to the skillet. Stir everything and let it simmer for another 3-5 minutes until well-coated and heated thoroughly.
Garnish and serve: Serve hot, topped with optional sesame seeds and chopped green onions for a fresh finish.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken with tofu or chickpeas. Adjust honey according to sweetness preference.
