A vibrant one-pan meal featuring tender chicken and Brussels sprouts in a sweet and savory honey-garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 2 cups Brussels sprouts (halved)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and halve the Brussels sprouts. Mince the garlic and ginger, and have your sauces ready.
  2. Make the honey-garlic sauce: Whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Brussels sprouts: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the Brussels sprouts, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender and caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  4. Cook the chicken: Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet and toss in the chicken pieces, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Combine and simmer: Return the Brussels sprouts to the skillet, pour the honey-garlic sauce over everything, stir to combine, and let simmer for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Garnish and serve: Transfer to a plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving warm.

Notes

For a different protein, substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp. You can also swap Brussels sprouts for green beans or broccoli.
