A delightful Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs recipe featuring a sweet and savory sauce that’s easy to prepare and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 (5 ounce) boneless chicken thighs
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ medium onion, finely chopped
  • 7 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 pinch onion powder
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken thighs and cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook for around 3 minutes until translucent.
  5. Incorporate the chopped garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the honey and soy sauce, stirring to combine.
  7. Season the mixture with onion and garlic powders.
  8. Return the chicken thighs to the skillet, ensuring they are well coated in the sauce.
  9. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro right before serving.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate the chicken in the honey-soy mixture for a few hours before cooking. For a thicker sauce, simmer uncovered after returning the chicken to the pan.
