  • 6 rolls King’s Hawaiian Rolls
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Half and Half or Whole Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered Sugar (optional)
  • 1 cup Fresh Fruit (optional)
  • 1 cup Maple Syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the Hawaiian rolls into halves or quarters.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, half and half (or milk), vanilla extract, cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl until combined.
  3. Dip each piece of roll into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Soak for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
  5. Cook the soaked rolls on the skillet until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  6. Plate the French toast, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and top with fresh fruit and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute half and half with almond milk. Experiment with extra spices for more flavor.
