A comforting casserole featuring hearty kielbasa sausage and creamy, cheesy potatoes, perfect for family gatherings or busy weeknights.

  • 1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil (for greasing the baking dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease your casserole dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the diced potatoes, sliced kielbasa, chopped onion, garlic powder, milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly for an even distribution.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Top generously with shredded cheese, ensuring every corner is covered.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the potatoes are tender.
  7. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a crispier top, consider broiling the casserole for the last 2-3 minutes. You can prepare this dish ahead of time, just increase the baking time by 5-10 minutes if baking from the refrigerator.
