A delicious and comforting Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan, perfect for weeknight meals or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix together the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Coat each chicken breast thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs.
  4. Arrange the coated chicken on a baking sheet. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating has a nice crispiness.
  5. Remove the chicken from the oven and top each breast generously with marinara sauce and a handful of mozzarella cheese.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and is bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

For even cooking, pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness. Use cooking spray on the breadcrumb-coated chicken for extra crispiness.
