A crowd-pleasing dish combining smoky sweetness of BBQ sauce with juicy chicken breasts, perfect for gatherings and weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the spices: In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create your flavorful spice blend.
  3. Prepare the chicken: Rub the olive oil generously on both sides of the chicken breasts for even coverage.
  4. Season it up: Thoroughly coat the chicken with your spice mix, ensuring each piece is well-seasoned.
  5. Bake the chicken: Place the seasoned chicken on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Add BBQ sauce: Carefully brush half of the BBQ sauce over both sides of the chicken and return it to the oven for another 10 minutes.
  7. Finish with sauce: After this time, apply the remaining BBQ sauce on top and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  8. Rest and serve: Let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving to lock in those juicy flavors.

Notes

For best flavor, let the chicken rest after seasoning for at least 15 minutes. A meat thermometer is key for perfect cooking.
