Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pound the chicken breasts evenly.
  3. Season both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper.
  4. Create a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan.
  5. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it into the eggs, and coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the chicken on both sides for about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Transfer the browned chicken to a baking dish.
  8. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and top with shredded mozzarella.
  9. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, use seasoned breadcrumbs or add garlic powder to the flour.
