Delightful Quark-Cakes that are quick to make, rich in protein, and great for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 250 g Magerquark
  • 100 g Haferflocken (oats)
  • 2 Eier (eggs)
  • 50 g Honig oder Ahornsirup (honey or maple syrup)
  • 1 TL Vanilleextrakt (vanilla extract)
  • 1 TL Backpulver (baking powder)
  • 1 Prise Salz (pinch of salt)
  • Zimt nach Geschmack (cinnamon to taste)
  • Öl oder Butter zum Braten (oil or butter for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the Magerquark, eggs, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Gradually add the dry mixture to the quark mixture, stirring continuously until you achieve a smooth batter.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and coat with oil or butter.
  5. Drop small portions of the batter onto the skillet using a tablespoon.
  6. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the cakes onto a paper towel to absorb any excess oil and serve warm.

Notes

These cakes can be topped with Greek yogurt, honey, or fresh fruits like blueberries or bananas. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
