Delightful rolls combining sausage and cheese in a warm, fluffy dough, perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled sausage or bacon
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell peppers or onions (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together the milk, water, and olive oil in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently stir until just combined—be careful not to overmix!
  5. Fold in the cooked sausage or bacon, cheese, and any optional vegetables you’d like to include.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Cut the rolled dough into squares or rectangles, then place them on a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the rolls are golden brown on top.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious, on-the-go breakfast!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-12 minutes.
